Canada’s PM Faces Backlash for Inviting India and Saudi Leaders to G7 Summit
Prime Minister Mark Carney has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the G7 summit on June 15th – 17th, in Kananaskis, Alberta,
But it’s uncertain if bin Salman will attend. As outlined in the June 10th, 2025 Economic Times of India post, “Canada invites Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince MBS to G7; ceasefire talks, Ukraine war and a tense past loom over the summit,” bin Salman was invited to the 2024 G7 Summit in Italy but declined the invitation.
The June 9th, 2025 CBC News post, Saudi Arabia's Mohammed bin Salman invited to G7 summit in Alberta: sources,” notes that bin Salman’s invitation is being condemned because of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record and the 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which was linked to bin Salman by US intelligence.
Carney’s silence on the matter, citing legal processes, has fueled outrage, particularly among Sikh communities and human rights advocates.
Indian Prime Minister Modi’s invitation is also drawing criticism due to India’s alleged role in the 2023 murder of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, which led to four Indian nationals being charged with the killing, and the deterioration of Canada-India relations when both Canada and India expelled diplomats from India and Canada.
The country hosting the annual G7 meeting normally has quite a bit of leeway to invite additional guests as they see fit. Canada has invited Mexico and Ukraine.
Canada’s PM is likely looking to develop relationships with other countries to serve as counterweights to US influence.
At least Carney didn’t invite China.
The June 7th, 2025 Juno News post, “Juno Jump Start | Carney calls for more China ties to counter US,” provides public context for at least some of the reasons why China has been consistently charged with meddling in Canadian elections in 2019, 2021 and during Canada’s most recent Federal election in 2025.

There’s a lot of stuff going on in the background of this story.
Previous episodes have talked about how big things, perhaps even a revolution in the current world order, are expected to come out of the latest G7.
Even legacy media outlets like the June 10th, 2025 Time post, “The History, and Significance, of the 50th G7 Summit,” agree that something big is in the cards.

Riots in Los Angeles
As noted in the June 10th, 2025 CTV News post, “Trump sends Marines and more National Guard members to Los Angeles,” US president Donald Trump continues to deploys National Guard units to Los Angeles amidst ongoing protests targeting US immigration policies.
As of today, 2000 National Guard soldiers are deployed in the city. They are expected to be joined by another 2000 National Guard soldiers plus 700 marines on Tuesday, despite objections from California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass.
For an overview of events, checkout the June 6th, 2025 ABC7 on YouTube post, “Los Angeles protests against immigration raids continue for 4th night.”
As noted in the June 9th, 2025 Al Jazeera post, “Los Angeles immigration protest clashes: What’s the latest and what’s next?,” the protests began four nights ago after agents from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), began arresting undocumented, mostly illegal immigrants in LA for deportation back to their country of origin.
As outlined in the post:
The protests began on Friday night after ICE officials arrested 44 people for violating immigration laws.
The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later said ICE officials had arrested a total of 118 immigrants who did not have documents required to stay in the US.
After protests broke out, the LAPD was called in to quell civil unrest. According to the June 10th, 2025 CNN post, “Los Angeles mayor slams vandalism during protests,” the protests then slowly devolved into vandalism and violence.
The June 9th, 2025 Politico post, “Newsom calls National Guard deployment ‘unlawful’ as immigration clashes rock LA,“ notes that California governor Newsom has called the federal military deployment “unlawful” and filed a lawsuit to oppose it, while US president Trump has labeled protesters “insurrectionists.”
The June 10th, 2025 Infowars post, “MAXIMUM EMERGENCY ALERT: The Desperate Democratic Party Knows It’s Game Over & Is Publicly Funding/Promoting Nationwide Mass Civil Unrest Set To Explode Saturday, June 14th!,” claims the unrest is a precursor to nationwide riots planned for June 14th and intended to remove the current US president from office.
The Infowars post says these riots are being orchestrated by “Soros-engineered” Marxist and democratic party affiliated groups funded by sympathetic non-government organizations (NGOs) with ties to the Biden administration.
InforWars isn’t the only new media outlet driving this narrative. The June 10th, 2025 John Rappaport on Substack post, “The Left is staging deportation riots; they’re panicking; why?” provides a variation on this story.
Essentially, the battle lines are drawn.
Infowars’ narrative of an organized plan fuels fears of coordinated unrest with leftists supported by NGO’s funded by money stolen from the US budget battling conservatives and Trump loyalists amidst growing Federal-state tensions.
And when the US sneezes, Canada catches a cold. For more, check out the June 9th, 2025 Alex Jones on “X” post, “The Kickoff For The 2nd American Civil War Has Begun!!!”
Politics in Canada
In other news this week, Freedom Forum has already talked about the razor thin margins in the House of Commons in our June 5th, 2025 post “The Throne Speech Gambit: A Dance of Power in Ottawa.”
That post questioned whether or not any of the opposition parties in Canada’s parliament want to call an election any time soon.
Over the last week, important stories are being pushed to the back of the news cycle. Canadian politicians are waiting to see which way the wind blows before making any moves.
For example:
Canada doesn’t have a budget, although it have the “2025 - 2026 Main Estimate,” which tells us what the Carney Liberals intend to spend (486.9 billion between 2025 - 2026 with $222.9 billion discretionary and $264.0 billion in “statutory expenditures”) but doesn’t say where the money is going to come from.
The Carney Liberals could raise taxes, or “print money” or try something else but the government doesn’t want to commit to any specific course of action before the fall sitting of parliament.
Federal Bill C-5, formally known as the, “One Canadian Economy: An Act to enact the Free Trade and Labour Mobility in Canada Act and the Building Canada Act” proposes streamlining regulations and offering tax incentives to boost productivity, but critics, including the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, argue it may burden small businesses with compliance costs and fail to address immediate economic pressures.
The June 6th, 2025 CBC News post, “Liberals table bill to cut trade barriers, speed up 'nation-building' infrastructure,“ notes how the Federal government’s Bill C-5 has received only lukewarm public support.
Given its lack of public and provincial support, no one in government really seems to want to talk about this bill although the Carney government is hoping to pass the legislation quietly, sometime before Parliament’s expected summer recess.
As outlined in the June 6th, 2025 National Post story, “Canada's unemployment rate hits 7%, highest since 2016 outside the pandemic,” Canada’s unemployment rate is rising.
The Canadian economy added only 15,000 jobs last month, far below the 25,000 expected, with youth and immigrant workers hit hardest.
At some point over the next few months, the Federal government is going to be expected to address this problem as well.
And then there’s Ottawa’s tech strategy. You’d think the Carney Liberals would have one all planned out since, as outlined in the May 17th, 2025 CBC News post, “Canada now has a minister of artificial intelligence. What will he do?,” the government explicitly promised to pay attention to technology after the last election. But no.
As outlined in the June 5th, 2025 The Walrus post, “Ottawa’s Tech Strategy Is So Broken, Even Consultants Are Begging Us to Fix It,” Canada remains “a cautionary tale in building government software.”
Come fall, the Carney Liberals may address this situation again, although they’ll likely avoid dealing with their internal problems in favor of passing legislation intended to tell tell the private sector how it should do things.
In essence, nothing is moving forward and everyone in Canada seems to be waiting for the results of the G7 Summit and the resolution of the current LA riots.
Then there’s Bill C-2, a mass-surveillance bill disguised as border control measure.
It’s a reminder that, no matter what else is going on around the world, Canadian prime minister Mark Carney and his minority Liberal government feels the need to protect itself from us, the voters.
For more on Bill C-2, check out the June 4th, 2025 Blendr News on TikTok post, “The Canadian Government just introduced a mass-surveillance bill disguised as border control.”
Musk & Trump
The June 6th, 2024 Brighteon Broadcast News (BNN) post, “Elon’s role in the BREAKAWAY CIVILIZATION that possesses exotic energy, teleportation, tunneling and space-bending technology,” is an interesting overview on the bizarre feud between US president Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, which also touches on the possibility of a "breakaway civilization" on planet Earth possessing advanced, hidden, exotic mostly military technologies.
According to the post, Musk's break from Trump may signify a much larger move by secretive tech and military suppliers in possession of secret, advanced weapons, robotics, teleportation, tunneling and antigravity propulsion systems to replace the national government.
It’s fascinating and mirrors work done by others, especially Catherine Austin Fitz.
The European Union
While recent European Union (EU) news reports are bemoaning increasing EU censorship, centralization, industrial collapse, tilt towards China and warmongering against Russia, not everyone feels that the EU is doomed to collapse.
Here’s a contrary viewpoint from the June 4th, 2025 Steven Eugene Kuhn on TikTok post, “They told you Germany was finished. Hungary irrelevant. Poland too traditional. But what if the truth is the opposite?”
Canadian Defence Spending
The June 9th, 2025 CTV News post, “Canada to boost defence spending to 2% of GDP this fiscal year, reach NATO target: Carney,” notes the obvious; Canada is being forced to raise its defense spending by its allies, again.
According to the CTV post, Canada has never previously met NATO’s existing spending target, despite a 2014 pledge to do so, and has faced public pressure from member countries for years to meet its commitment.
Will it succeed this time? Probably not.
For more, check out the June 10th, 2025 CBC News on YouTube post, “Will Carney’s new defence spending end Canada's military 'embarrassment'?”
Israeli Sanctions
As outlined in the June 10th, 2025 CTV News post, “US condemns Canada, allies over move to sanction two far-right Israeli ministers,” the United States is condemning Canada and other countries over sanctions imposed last Tuesday on two far-right Israeli ministers for comments they say incite “violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.”
Last week, the June 4th, 2025 The Cradle post, “Trump 'purges' Israel hardliners in overhaul of West Asia policy,” noted that “US President Donald Trump has been removing key pro-Israel hardliners from his foreign policy team.”
The US seems to be wavering on support for Israel and Trump seems to detest Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
How long before the tide turns against Israel,

Trump’s Plane
And finally tonight, here’s the June 7th, 2025 Mongo Minds on Bitchute post, “This Plane's Not For Me. This Goes To The United States Air Force.”
