Censorship Regulations Likely to be Revisited by the Carney Liberals

Whether intended to combat "foreign interference" from China or protect Canadians from "online harm," expect the Liberal government to continue curtailing free speech.

The new Mark Carney led, Liberal minority government faces a complex landscape of fifth-generation warfare (5GW) techniques including hybrid, non-kinetic tactics like disinformation, cyberattacks, AI-driven perception manipulation and even reasoned, factual arguments contrary to government viewpoints.

While some of those tools are used by domestic and international opponents we should legitimately stand on guard against, the tools can and often are also utilized by legitimate political opponents to the current Carney government.

Here’s hoping the new government understands the difference between to two groups.
