Big pharma is engaged in an ongoing battle over control of the potentially highly profitable genetically modified (GMO) messenger RNA (mRNA) technology, which was first deployed in the various Covid-19 vaccines purchased in massive quantities by governments around the world during the great pandemic of 2022 - 2022.

As outlined in the April 23rd, 2024 Reuters post, “Pfizer vs Moderna battle over COVID vaccine patents begins in UK,” New York based pharmaceutical and biotechnology giant Pfizer and its German based partner BioNTech, intend to deprive their competitor, Cambridge MA based Moderna‘s of its patents on the mRNA technology in a series of court cases which began in September 2022 in a London UK based court.
