Those Fast Approaching “Trump Tariffs,” the LA Fires are Deliberate, Jagmeet Singh is Irrelevant, More Coutt's Protestors Sentenced and the Incoming White House Deputy Chief of Staff.
Those Fast Approaching “Trump Tariffs.”
Tonight coverage begins with the January 13th, 2025 True North post, “The Candice Malcolm Show | Danielle Smith pushes Trudeau aside, takes the lead in negotiating with Trump,” which notes that the Alberta premier “flew down to Florida over the weekend for two private meetings with President-elect Donald Trump at his personal residence, Mar-a-Lago.”
While at Mar-a-Lago, Smith posed for picture with Trump and “Mr Wonderful,” Canadian businessman and media personality Kevin O’Leary, who seems to have also won Trump’s attention.
The visit immediately places Smith, and to a lesser extent the political opportunist O’Leary, miles ahead of almost any other Canadian public, political figure, in the upcoming “tariff wars,” expected to consume the first part of Trump’s second term.
Not everyone is happy with this state of affairs. Some, as outlined in the January 13th, 2025 Edmonton Journal post, “David Staples: Alberta's Danielle Smith shoots down Ottawa threat of energy embargo on US,” are arguing that Smith’s meeting limited Ottawa’s future options.
But Canada’s Federal government is mostly out of the game right now and they have no real plans.
As outlined in the November 12th, 2025 CTV News post, “'Everything is on the table': Joly won't rule out cutting off energy exports to U.S. in face of Trump tariff threat,” Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly is currently quarterbacking the Liberal government’s attempt to corral all the Canadian Premiers into a conclave with “lame duck” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau next week to discuss strategy, before travelling to Washington next month to “bulk lobby” the incoming US president.
But Trump knows he can outlast Trudeau and the Canadian response is heavily dependent on who ends up a Prime Minister after Trudeau leaves office. No one really knows when that will happen, although Trudeau has promised to leave after the Liberals pick a new leader.
As outlined in the November 26th,2024 Reuters post, “Trump vows new Canada, Mexico, China tariffs that threaten global trade,” President-elect Trump pronounced via social media on November 25th that he plans to impose a 25% tariff on all products imported into the United States from Canada and Mexico, among other countries, as one of his first executive orders on January 20, 2025.
That’s only a week away. Stay tuned.

The LA Fires are Deliberate
It’s becoming more and more obvious that the current Los Angeles fires were set deliberately.
For a little more on that, here’s the January 9th, 2025 Press for Truth on Bitchute post, “Arson Is NOT Climate Change!! What You NEED To Know About The California Fires!!!”
There are plans to convert LA into a smart city by 2028. Perhaps everything is burning down now in order to save the city of LA the expropriation costs normally required to rezone, demolish and rebuild.
Who knows…
But Los Angeles is also scheduled to host the 2028 Olympics. As outlined on the LA2028 website:
The LA28 Games will feature 50+ Olympic and Paralympic sports, 800+ events, and over 3,000 hours of live action. Across sunny Southern California, 80+ venues await, promising fans unbeatable spectating experiences.
A lot of those athletic venues still need to be built.
The LA 2028 Olympics is another series of rezoning, demolition and rebuilding costs which may no longer be required once the LA wildfires burn themselves out.
Then there’s the strange case of California insurance companies cancelling their homeowner insurance policies in the areas currently being ravaged by fire, just a few months before the fires started.
The January 9th, 2025 Paul Joseph Watson on You Tube post, “The Truth About The Wildfires,” blames lesbian diversity hires, unfamiliar with basic firefighting mitigation strategies for the incompetence.
Others blame incompetence at the political level.
Everyone agrees that massive incompetence occurred. Not all agree that the massive incompetence was intentionally arranged.
More recent news reports, such as the January 13th, 2025 Sky News post, “LA fires latest: At least 23 people still unaccounted for in LA fires as more than 30 arrests made by law enforcement,” at least acknowledge that weird things, maybe even arson, are going on in LA.
So what’s going to happen over time in LA?
Well, if the 2023 Hawaii fires or the 2024 Jasper fires in Canada are any indication, the properties will be gutted and the locals will be pushed off the lands, which will eventually fall into the hands of rich developers who will built “smart cities” or perhaps fancy Olympic stadiums on the properties.
The January 12th, 2025 National Post story, “'We're going to lose Jasper': Town pleads with Steven Guilbeault to fast-track recovery,” is an overview of what’s happening in Canada.
Essentially, there’s no money for the locals to rebuild.
For an overview of what’s happening in the US, check out the January 21th, 2025 Lionel Nation on Bitchute post, “The 2025 LA Fires Will Result in the Largest Globalist Land Grab in History.”
It assumes that most of what’s going on in LA is intentional.
But for those of us who don’t, here’s the January 12th, 2025 The Daily Signal on YouTube post, “Victor Davis Hanson: How DEI Caused a Multifaceted ‘Systems Breakdown’ in Los Angeles.”
Both pieces make good points. Either way, the current LA fire is scary, scary stuff.
Jagmeet Singh is Irrelevant
Jagmeet Singh is irrelevant to current Canadian political discussions, at least according to the January 8th, 2025 National Post editorial, “Amy Hamm: Jagmeet Singh's future of irrelevancy can't come soon enough.”
According to the Post:
As the years go on, Trudeau will remain well-known and widely despised. But Singh? He won't be worth thinking about.
The National Post goes on to note:
Jagmeet Singh is about to be relegated to a footnote in Canadian history. And the footnote will probably read like a joke.
Legacy outlets aren’t the only media outlets coming down hard on the NDP leader.
For a new media perspective, check out the January 13th, 2025 Northern Exposure on YouTube post, “Jagmeet Singh Makes RIDICULOUS Suggestion In Response To Trump - NOBODY CARES ABOUT THE NDP!”
More Coutt's Protestors Sentenced.
Two more Coutts protestors have been sentenced by Canadian courts for their activities during the 2022 Canadian Freedom convoy protests, almost three years after the protests led to a lifting of the Canada’s restrictive and illegal Covid mandates.
One has been sentenced to prison for lacking “remorse.”
As outlined in the January 11th, 2025 Rebel News post, “Coutts Three sentenced... nearly three years after border blockade:”
Marco Van Huigenbos has been sentenced to 120 days in jail with no conditions. Upon the court's conclusion, he will head directly to jail. George Janzen was given a "conditional" 90-day sentence to be served in the community.
According to the post, “The judge pointed to Van Huigenbos' lack of remorse and noted Janzen was on the path to rehabilitation as he handed out the two sentences.”
The third defendant, Alex Van Herk, awaits his sentencing at a future date.
Canadian’s owe a debt of gratitude to the 2022 Trucker Convoy and the Coutt’s protestors who legally protested against Federal government overreach during the Great Pandemic of 2020 - 2022.
As outlined in the January 23rd, 2024 Freedom Forum post, “Federal Court rules use of Emergencies Act was Unconstitutional and Unreasonable,” the Federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act to arrest and imprison legitimate protesters objecting to illegal government policies, was ruled “unconstitutional and unreasonable,” in January 2024.
That should have been the end of it.
The fact that Canadian citizens are still being held and convicted for their legitimate, nonviolent actions against illegal government edicts is a stain on Canadian society.
Here’s hoping that stain is washed from the Canadian fabric as soon as possible.
The Incoming White House Deputy Chief of Staff
And finally tonight, here’s the January 12th, 2024 Mongo Minds on Bitchute post, “Incoming White House Deputy Chief Of Staff.”
