The Liberals Call a Snap Election
Liberal leader Mark Carney has, as expected, called a snap election for April 28th, 2025.
As noted in the March 24th, 2025 Juno News post, “Juno Jump Start | Carney's April 28 election is shortest campaign allowed by law,” Federal parties will have just 37 days to campaign.
The reasons for this short campaign are obvious.
Carney doesn’t expect to maintain the good feeling the electorate holds over the retirement of outgoing PM Justin Trudeau for any length of time.
Carney has been a senior Liberal party advisor for the last five years and has signed off on most of the current Justin Trudeau Liberal government policies. He knows those policies aren’t popular and expects to loose much of his current support just as soon as the electorate figures this out.
Carney also comes with a lot of his own baggage.
He is a World Economic Forum (WEF) “elitist” who won’t respond to media queries, locks out legitimate difference of opinion from campaign rallies and is expected to run a Kamala Harris style campaign, highlighting his “elitist” banker expertise, stealing popular policies from the Conservatives but avoiding any real discussion of how a Carney government would actually govern once they gain power.
So a lot of Carney’s proposed temporary tax cuts will end up looking like the Liberal “Carbon tax” holiday from Christmas 2024, simply a PR stunt, a “temporary change” with no real influence over long-term policy.
The Liberals will temporarily scoop policies from the opposition for the short periods of time needed to win the election, and then move back to their previous policies once they’ve safely refreshed their mandate.
A second consensus seems to be that, just like during the November 2024 US presidential election, the legacy media polls are being intentionally “cooked” to show a Liberal victory and sway “low-information,” mostly retired voters to remain with the Carney liberals no matter what is actually going on.
This policy is expected to fail in a spectacular fashion.
The most telling indicator that the Liberals are “doomed” is the number of incumbent Liberal MP’s who’ve chosen not to run for reelection.
Thirty-five of the Liberals 153 member caucus, that’s nearly a quarter of the party incumbents, are not running for re-election.

The third consensus is that the NDP and Liberals will combine to try to “Stop Poilievre.”
But this might not be a winning strategy. If nothing else, NDP popularity has collapsed.
As outlined in the March 15th, 2025 Toronto Star post, “The NDP’s free fall reveals an essential truth about this election,” the NDP’s flashy new ads, “portraying Jagmeet Singh as a fighter, seem to be borne of an alternate universe. [1Capture13]The latest polls aren’t just flashing red — they’re signaling a collapse that could cost the party its official status.”
There’s also the question of Chinese government interference in Canadian elections and Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) acknowledged favoritism for the Federal Liberals.
As noted by the March 14th, 2025 The Bureau post “Brookfield’s Deep Ties to Chinese Land, Loans, and Green Deals—And a Real Estate Tycoon With CCP Links—Raise Questions as Carney Takes Over from Trudeau,” that issue isn’t going away anytime soon.

Their Official Opposition (Pierre Poilievre)
Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative party, the official opposition to the Carney Liberals, are currently trying to play it safe.
Poilievre is doing all the standard stuff, criticizing the Liberal record and promising a “deeper income tax cut than Carney,” but he’s not really performing above and beyond the call of duty, except maybe in one specific area.
He’s calling out the Century Initiative. a Canadian lobby group and registered charity that advocates for increasing Canada’s population to 100 million by the year 2100, mostly through increased immigration.
According to the March 21st, 2025 post on “X” the organization was:
Founded in 2009 as the Laurier Project Foundation by prominent figures including Mark Wiseman and Dominic Barton (both with ties to McKinsey & Company), it rebranded to its current name with a focus on population growth through immigration and economic development.
Mark Wiseman, co-founder of the Century Initiative, is also an advisor to Mark Carney and Poilievre promised in a March 21st, 2025 post on “X” to stop the plan.
Otherwise, not much is happening although Poilievre, like Carney, has taken steps to limit legacy media access to his campaign.
For example, and as outlined in the March 18th, 2025 Paul Wells on Substack post, “Dept. of Campaign Emails: No CPC media plane,” here will be no media contingent on Conservative campaign buses or planes during the campaign, though the Conservatives “welcome and encourage participation at all public events.”
Other than that, the only real problem Poilievre has had to deal with in the first week of his campaign seems to be a comment from US President Donald Trump, who slammed the conservative leader by saying he would much rather deal with a Liberal than a Conservative.
Here’s the March 20th, 2025 Global News on YouTube post, “Trump claims “a Liberal” would be “easier to deal with” than Poilievre,” with more.
The Real Opposition (Danielle Smith & Max Bernier)
The real opposition in the current Federal election seems to be Alberta premier Danielle Smith and Peoples Party of Canada (PPC) leader Maxime Bernier.
Both politicians are mostly ignoring Canadian government funded media outlets to get their message out.
Smith favors US media outlet interviews and “X” posts, while Bernier is focused around US and Canadian based “new media” outlets without access to government funding and tax credits.
The March 20th, 2025 Danielle Smith on “X” post, outlining her recent meeting with Carney, is a good overview of her views on this issue.
During the meeting, she called on the Carney Liberals to:
Guarantee Alberta full access to oil and gas corridors to the north, east, and west.
Repeal Bill C-69 (the “no new pipelines act”).
Lift the tanker ban off the BC coast.
Eliminate the oil and gas emissions cap, which is a production cap.
Scrap the so-called Clean Electricity Regulations.
End the prohibition on single use plastics.
Abandon the net-zero car mandates.
Return oversight of the industrial carbon tax to the provinces.
Halt federal censorship of energy companies.
The March 23rd, 2025 National Post story, “How a two-week-old interview by Danielle Smith drove day one of the election campaign” noted that Smith was pressing both major Federal political parties on Alberta rights in both Canadian and US media outlets.
In contrast, Maxime Bernier's “magical media tour” seems to be the first time a Canadian politician has firmly embraced alternative, new media outlets for political campaigning.
Over the last few weeks Bernier has appeared on over a dozen and a half domestic and international new media podcasts to push the PPC message.
Appearances include:
The March 23rd, 2025 episode of Alex Jones Infowars podcast.
The March 22nd 2025 episode of the Viva Frei podcast.
The March 21st, 2025 episode of the Health Ranger, Mike Adam’s podcast.
The March 19th, 2025 episode of the popular Laura-Lynn Thompson Tyler podcast.
The March 10th, 2025 episode of Redacted with Clayton Morris.
The March 7th, 2025 episode of the Strong and Free Truthcast with “Iron” Will Dove.
Bernier holds many of the same political viewpoints favored by the Trump administration, unlike the Poilievre conservatives who consistently waffle on key issues.
His media strategy, essentially avoiding the big, government funded outlets like the CBC, the Globe and the Star (who’ve already dismissed the PPC), is considered bold, perhaps reckless and certainly in opposition to pretty much everyone else running.
But it may be the wave of the future.
This publication wishes Bernier and his PPC the very best in this first big test of the power of independent media in Canada.
The EU Military Buildup
The European Union (EU) is not having as easy of a time building up its military as you might expect from reading recent legacy news reports.
As outlined in the March 20th, 2025 Defence News post, “Italy opposes EU defense-spending scheme, checking bloc’s momentum,” it’s one thing to promise.
It’s another thing entirely to follow-through.
Here’s another view of the situation, the March 11th, 2025 India Today Global post, “Italian Lawmakers Protest Against EU’s £800 Billion Rearmament Plan | India Today Global.”
The Kafre Discovery
In other news this week, if this discovery can be validated, it is potentially the largest, most important archeological finding ever made.
This publication can't wait for Randall Carlson and Graham Hancock to chime in on the archeological finding discovered through the use of “noninvasive” surface aperture radar (SAR) scans from the Khafre pyramid in Egypt.
Check out the March 21st, 2025 The Lost History Channel on YouTube post, “MASSIVE Transformer-Like STRUCTURES DISCOVERED Under The Khafre Pyramid in Egypt,” for more.
