The Collapse of the Longstanding US Government’s “Propaganda Multiplier.”

There’s a well respected theory from alternative and new media circles over the last twenty years which holds that the White House, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Pentagon essentially controlled the news coverage of legacy news outlets through three global news agencies, the American focused New York based Associated Press (AP), the quasi-French governmental focused Paris based Agence France-Presse (AFP) and the London UK based Reuters, owned through a holding company by the Thomson family of Canada.

There’s a lot of good information on this topic but the account we’ll be focusing on today is the June 2016 original and March 2019 update of the Swiss Policy Research post, “The Propaganda Multiplier.”
