The Illegal Arrest, Extradition & Conviction of Reiner Fuellmich, Why the Fuellmich Story Wasn’t Researched Using Google Search and the Origin of Natural and Artificial Flavors
The Illegal Arrest, Extradition & Conviction of Reiner Fuellmich
The arrest, extradition, trial and final conviction of German lawyer and activist Reiner Fuellmich in a German court last month, raises serious questions about government overreach and censorship.
But the legacy medias has largely ignored this story, and the public has been left in the dark.
Fuellmich is well known and respected in Germany for his role in the 2015 Volkswagen emissions scandal. In 2009, Fuellmich's law firm was ranked among the top 20 German law firms for investor protection.
Everything was going well for Fuellmich until he founded the Corona Investigative Committee in 2020.
The committee gained initial prominence for alleging COVID-19 measures were “crimes against humanity,” in public posts such as the May 15th, 2022 Box Cast post, “Full Version Whistleblower Video Investigative Corona Committee Germany.”
Things started going south for Fuellmich beginning in October 2023 when, as outlined in the February 3rd, 2024 Triglav Media post, “The Prejudice of Dr. Reiner Füllmich, An Analysis of The Case Against Him,” he was arrested in Mexico by German official under questionable circumstances.
Lured to the German embassy in Tijuana by German authorities over undefined “passport issues,” Fuellmich was instead kidnapped by German consular officers, flown secretly via private jet to Frankfurt, then imprisoned in a German jail without any international arrest warrant being issued or formal extradition process being followed.
The arrest was mostly ignored in English language media, being noted only in the October 17th, 2023 VICE hit piece, “‘Fake Pandemic’ Conspiracy Lawyer Arrested After Claims He Ripped Off His Followers.”
After his arrest, the Coronal Investigation Committee shut down. Fuellmich was held in pre-trial detention for over eighteen months, a period far exceeding Germany’s six-month legislated maximum, and faced charges of embezzling €700,000 from the Corona committee.
As noted in the April 27th, 2025 HNA post, “Nach langem Prozess: Göttinger „Querdenker“-Anwalt muss mehr als drei Jahre in Haf,” a Göttingen court sentenced Fuellmich to three years and nine months in April 2025, despite his defense arguing, successfully according to independent accounts, that the funds were a properly documented loan to protect committee assets from government seizure.
Fuellmich’s supporters claim, as outlined in the April 30th, 2024 BAM news post, “Reiner Fuellmich: A Political Prisoner? Part 2: Courtroom showdown,” that the arrest was politically motivated, citing a secret, German government dossier targeting him for his COVID critiques.
For more on the arrest and the charges, check out the January. 29th, 2024 galacticstorm on Rumble post, “Update: Reiner Fuellmich's Lawyer Reveals Why Fuellmich is held in German Jail.”
Fuellmich’s detention conditions included solitary confinement, shackled court appearances, and limited contact with family. These were highly suspect steps for the German courts to take over the non-violent, essentially civil charges laid in the case, and have fueled accusations of censorship and government intimidation.
Yet major German news outlets offered minimal coverage, framing him as a conspiracy theorist without exploring the evidence or noting the trial irregularities.
The real evidence indicates that Fuellmich hasn’t done anything different from Canada’s National Citizen’s Inquiry, when it published its November 2023 report on “Inquiry into the Appropriateness and Efficacy of the COVID-19 Response in Canada,” or from any one of a dozen other US and international organization looking into intentional government malfeasance in other circumstances.
But Fuellmich remains in jail. The court, in an unusual move, even refused to credit his sentence for the eighteen months he was illegally detained in jail, awaiting trial.
And the personal funds Fuellmich put up as collateral to guarantee what he and others considered to be a perfectly legal loan have also been expropriated by the German government.
Fuellmich has essentially been wiped out financially.

Why the Fuellmich Story Wasn’t Researched Using Google Search
It’s worth noting our first story on Reiner Fuellmich wasn’t researched using Google Search.
Beginning around 2020, and as outlined in articles like the February 5th, 2024 The 215 Guys post, “Science Confirms Google Search Sucks Now,” Google started to suck.
Since 2020, users have reported more and more results drowning in low-quality content, AI-generated spam, and ads that shove organic answers way down the Google rankings, to page two or even further.
Beginning in 2024, Google’s “Helpful Content Update” promised “people-first” results, but posts on “X” and web reports like the May 7th, 2025 Search Engine Land post [1Capture14], “Is Google really getting worse? (Actually, it’s complicated)” suggesting that Google ads are being prioritized over relevance.
The August 5th, 2023 Fast Company post, “Google Maps has become an eyesore. 5 examples of how the app has lost its way,” notes the pin-cluttered interface messing up Google Maps’, with paid ads from hotels and bars crowding out useful data, a trend echoed in Google search.
Meanwhile, Google’s privacy policies, over 120 hyperlinks of jargon, obscure, perhaps intentionally, how user information fuels this mess.
As noted in the June 9th,2021 Nord Media Network post, “How and Why Google Gives you Such a Hard Time,” the situation is a deliberate shift to keep users clicking longer, boosting ad revenue at the cost of clarity.

But while a good case can be created that Google “sucks” simply because of stupid attempt to monetize the data have gotten out of control, there’s also documented censorship concerns over the integrity of Google data.
From the propaganda perspective, Google’s algorithm absolutely takes into account local regulations like Germany’s Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG), which demands swift removal of content the German government considers “hateful.”
A 2024 DeGruyter Brill study on “Media, Populism and Hate Speech,” notes authoritarian states push censorship hardest, with Russia and China topping Google’s Transparency Reports for takedown requests. But the report also notes that approximately 150 governments, including western nations, have demanded millions of content removals since Google’s founding in 1998, and Google often obliges by delisting or demoting results.
Copyright laws, like the 1998 US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA) trigger rapid filtering. The Google Chilling Effects archive (now known as “Lumen,” perhaps to obscure its true use) shows DMCA takedowns since 2002, and how those takedowns sometimes silence legitimate voices.
Press freedom takes a hit when Google caves to state pressure, like what happened with Russia’s 2021 Smart Voting application ban.
In essence, Google’s compliance with local copyright and “hate speech” regulations amplify state agendas and bury dissent.
That’s why “Roasting the Press” segment used multiple sources to validate the stories discussed.
In this case of the Reiner Fuellmich story, Freedom Forum used:
Bing, for basic search because it seems to have fewer content restrictions and parses independent Substacks and bloggers better than Google.
Grok, the generative artificial intelligence chatbot developed by xAI, which Freedom Forum often uses for complex search and structure.
The Tor Browser, for access to information not normally indexed in search engines and to provide a basic level of “search anonymity.”
A Virtual Private Network (VPN), to encrypt internet traffic and hide our IP address, for a slightly higher level of anonymity, for access to national records which might not be available in Canada (where Freedom Forum is created) and for “plausible deniability.”
For a basic overview on what some have called the “censorship industrial complex,” check out the December 17th, 2024 Senator Alex Antic on YouTube post, “The Censorship Industrial Complex.”
The Origin of Natural and Artificial Flavors

“Roasting the Press,” is an open forum with new media journalists critiquing and complaining about our well funded competitors, the stories they create and the techniques they use.
