The Canadian Security Intelligence Service Holds a Press Conference
CSIS blamed violent extremists, radicalized youth, foreign interference & good old fashioned espionage for its growing focus on domestic surveillance. At least the new director kept a straight face.
As outlined in the November 13th, 2025 Wesley Wark’s National Security and Intelligence Newsletter post, “The first annual Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) speech on threats,” took place last week at the National Centre in Ottawa.
It was also posted to YouTube, as the November 13th, 2025 CBC News on YouTube post, “CSIS director holds rare news conference.”
